10 very useful Google Chrome shortcuts

In the past, for me, it’s always been difficult to get used to any type of shortcuts. There are a few Windows shortcuts like CTRL+F (this is to search; works in your browser as well) which I use frequently and which speed up things greatly already but it doesn’t go far beyond that. (And before you leave a comment, yes I know copy+paste too ;) )

Since however I spend most of my time in front of the browser nowadays I decided to go through the Google Chrome shortcut list and see if there are a few shortcuts actually worth learning and oh snap, there really are:

  1. Ctrl+T – opens a new tab
  2. Ctrl+Shift+T – reopens a tab you just closed
  3. Ctrl+N – opens a new window
  4. Ctrl+Shift+N – opens a new window in incognito mode
  5. Ctrl+W – closes the current tab or pop-up
  6. Ctrl+Tab – switches through tabs in your browser window
  7. Ctrl+J – opens the download page
  8. Ctrl+B – toggles the bookmark bar on and off
  9. F6 – Highlights the URL in the address bar or puts your cursor there
  10. Ctrl+D – bookmarks your current webpage

If you have any other shortcuts which you use frequently please leave a comment and share them!
